Emergency ServicesPocono Mountain Regional Police DepartmentIn 1994, Tobyhanna Township joined forces with Mount Pocono Borough to create the Pocono Mountain Regional Police Department. The Department provides 24-hour police protection based upon a cost per unit basis. Since 1994, Tunkhannock and Coolbaugh Township have joined the Department bringing the total number of uniformed officers to 30. The department also includes four detectives, two detective sergeants, one lieutenant and the chief of police. The Pocono Mountain Regional Police Commission is the governing body of the police department. The commission is made up of members from each of the participating municipalities. Under the articles of agreement, representation is based upon the amount of service purchased by each municipality. The council or supervisors of the respective township and borough appoint their representatives to the commission. John E. Kerrick and Jamie B. Keener are the Supervisor representatives and Dave Moyer is the resident representative from Tobyhanna Township for 2008. Regular Hours are Monday - Saturday, 9 am. to 4 pm. Mailing Address Website:
