Mr. John J. Jablowski, Jr. MPA serves as Manager of the Township of Tobyhanna. He has a career in public service, organizational management and education that spans over 25 years serving Pennsylvania local governments.
He holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration with a focus on Government from Marywood University, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science with a concentration on American State & Local Government along with a Minor Degree in Pennsylvania Studies from Penn State University.
As Manager, Mr. Jablowski is helping to lead the efforts to create a public and open spaces with boutique shopping districts in the Villages of Blakeslee, Pocono Pines and Pocono Summit in addition to creating the Tobyhanna Township Hike & Bike Program.
Coupled with Infrastructure and Transportation improvements throughout Tobyhanna Township, he is moving forward a community vision to positively enhance the experience of visitors, residents and businesses.
With a background in community development, Mr. Jablowski was District Director for the PA House of Representatives Majority Policy Chairman and helped implement the legislative framework for the Center for Rural Pennsylvania. Additionally, he has served as Mayor of Ashley Borough and a Council Member in Wilkes-Barre Township. Mr. Jablowski also was a Congressional Assistant to United States Congressman Paul Kanjorski.
He is a graduate of Leadership Lackawanna; served as Executive Director of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of NEPA and was Development Director of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic.
During his career in public financial management career, he has cumulatively managed over $2 Billion in community development financing and management of funds for Pennsylvania governments.
Jablowski served as an adjunct instructor at Penn State/Wilkes-Barre in American Government, Comparative Political Systems, Cultural and Regional Geography and American Political Campaigns. He has served on the board of directors of the Luzerne County Community College Foundation and the Advisory Board of the PA Economy League
